Nigerian rappers Erigga and EESKAY join together to bridge different viewpoints of North & South, a 6-track joint album set for 2026 under the name Cleanblack Music.
Erigga’s Warri-rooted rap perspective and EESKAY’s Abuja background have combined to give the album much of its character. Instead of making such distinctions a competition, the album employs them to examine shared experiences of survival, ambition, pressure and the everyday Nigerian reality.
Tubase and Jayscilla are credited with production throughout the project, while Kachisicho “Jefe” Ayogu-Eze is credited with arrangement. The small runtime keeps the record running and allows the collaborative idea to grow without additional expansions.
North & South finally serves as a meeting place of two rap identities formed by separate Nigerian regions. Its brevity, and the persistent triple-name billing only heighten the idea of a consciously constructed joint oeuvre.
