South African producer and Amapiano beatmaker Jnr SA has just dropped a new studio album tagged “Dance To My Afro,” and it’s a lively one.
This timely initiative comes at a time when electronic music fans are clamouring for a smooth connection between Amapiano and Afro-house sounds. Township party settings always need a shot of sound energy to keep the dancers going till daybreak. So Jnr SA is dropping this whole album to show off his increasing musical palate.
The beatmakers offer a very lush vibe with warm synth pads and powerful wood percussion. They put down crisp shaker patterns to keep the rhythm steady and intriguing under fluid basslines. But the roominess of the atmosphere allows plenty of breathing room to each melodic instrument.
