Kwara-born Nigerian singer Ruhdee joins Agege-raised Nigerian Afrobeats artist Billirano for the 2026 release of “Away” after an early preview of the album emerged in July.
The collaboration alters the setting of a song that was initially heard under Billirano alone, providing Ruhdee with a clear spot in the completed record rather than offering the earlier clip unaltered. Both musicians lend their vocals to a joint effort, meant for short-term listening.
“Away” stays lean in presentation, focusing on the sung portions and the repeating hook rather than extending the arrangement with extraneous elements.
For Billirano, the single continues a year that has already contained “Oshe”, while Ruhdee arrives following a run that has included “Fantasy”, “JONBU” and a slew of guest appearances. Another link between musicians working within Nigeria’s expanding street-pop circle, their meeting.
