Nigerian artist FOLA has added the song “stubborn” to his 2026 studio album 9, extending a run of musical activity that has secured him a prominent reputation in the Afrobeats genre.
The track is part of a project derived from personal events that have been meaningful for the performer. His song writing has often focused on relationships and daily life issues with Yoruba language playing a huge part in delivering his message to the audience.
FOLA’s musical growth has been shaped by modern R&B and Afropop, especially in the melodic approach that can be heard in his previous repertoire. His creativity is also known for his ability to infuse indigenous expressions into modern Nigerian popular music.
His success has not been limited to singles, as catharsis made him an album artist in 2025. That triumph sets the stage for his sophomore effort, especially as audiences grow more comfortable with his composition and artistic style.
The track is available across all major digital streaming services. Listen and let us know what you think in the comments below!
