Kelvyn Boy – 2nd Step (Album)

Ghanaian rapper, songwriter and entertainer Kelvyn Boy who is popular and great, adds additional music to his growing collection with a new sophomore studio project titled “2nd Step.”

After over a decade in the music business, Kelvyn Boy has found his niche. He has experimented with a variety of genres while maintaining his Ghanaian roots close to his songs. In “2nd Step,” he looks back on his journey and appreciates the accomplishment he’s earned after years of hard work.

The album begins with “Jehova,” in which Kelvyn Boy thanks God for the path and successes he has experienced thus far. Then comes “Pioneer,” a self-assured album about his position in the music world and the lifestyle that his hard work has afforded him. He joins forces with outstanding Ghanaian rapper Lalid and award-winning hip-hop act Strongman on track three, “I,” which is a more serious song.

The fourth single, “Allo,” features Ghanaian rapper Medikal, who is a rising star in Ghana. Then follows “Sorry” with the brilliant singer Mellisa on track five, before Kelvyn Boy brings listeners to a more personal aspect of his narrative with “Ability,” which occupies the sixth slot.

The seventh track, “Millions,” has the gifted Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul, whose superb vocals bring another flavor to the song. The partnership also provides a softer moment on the album with the blend of guitars and soft percussion. Number eight is “All Over,” and it is another great collaboration between Kelvyn Boy and popular Ghanaian Afrobeat and Highlife artist Kuami Eugene.

The album’s number nine track is “1942,” another track where Kelvyn Boy oozes confidence and reflects on the fruits that have come with his path. On the tenth track, “Weather For 2,” he teams up with Ghanaian up-and-comer KOJO BLAK for a more romantic side to the project. The last two songs are “Blueticks” and “Hallelujah” at eleventh and twelfth place, respectively.

On his 12-track project “2nd Step,” Kelvyn Boy blends Afrobeats, highlife, hip-hop, and other Ghanaian sounds to tell the tale of his life and career. The album paints a clear picture of the artist he has become, from giving appreciation on “Jehova” to showing confidence on “Pioneer” to sharing many parts of himself through the collaborations.
