Nigerian hitmaker Young Jonn is prepping his next project with “Hold Somebody,” a new 2026 single released before of the body of work he has scheduled for 25 September.
The writing touches on the competing priorities of a relationship, as reflected by the sentence about one person looking for money and the other for love. It follows “Elumelu”, continuing Young Jonn’s solo run this year.
The record is a dance ready pulse under Young Jonn’s melodious delivery at 123 BPM and is set in an Afrobeats mold. The hook is responsible for a good deal of the song’s instant appeal, allowing the main idea to register without getting bogged down in an over-complicated arrangement.
With releases like Jiggy Forever and Blue Disko already helping to shift him from producer to front-facing artist, this song gives his existing fans an early entrance point into the next chapter of his discography.
