Kayumba joins Tiffah Devoice on the remix of “Dakika Mbili,” and two minutes certainly wasn’t sufficient the first time.
Generally, that’s the whole point of a remix. Something in the original caught fire. This version expands it and adds another voice to extend what two minutes couldn’t contain alone.
The bassline expands out further here than a usual original cut, with thicker percussion layering underneath both vocals. Kayumba’s presence alters the equilibrium as well, providing the track with a second texture to lean on.
The emotional heart of Tiffah Devoice is still there; her delivery and tone are identical, but there’s more space around it today. Kayumba answers back, a little rougher this time, picking up where the original left off quietly.
When two minutes of feeling finally receive the space it requires, play “Dakika Mbili Remix.”
