Harmonize kicks off his “31” album campaign with a Nigerian Afrobeats veteran, Wande Coal, on “Beautiful (Remix),” produced by S2Kizzy, and it’s also the project’s anchor lead song.
The original “Beautiful” set the album age early. But the remix sees Wande Coal come in to give the tune a wider pan-African appeal before the complete “31” project is released. That decision to strategically put it out shows that Harmonize and his Konde Music Worldwide staff knew this cooperation needed to do specific market work. Wande Coal’s West African fans are not an audience that will automatically gravitate to a Bongo Flava record. But the lead single reverses that equation.
