KiDi – Where Do We Go From Here (Album)

Finally, KiDi releases his third studio album “Where Do We Go From Here,” and after two years of waiting, Ghana’s music community has been anticipating this moment.

The announcement itself came with real theater. KiDi launched the project via a unique video that instantly took viewers off guard with the inclusion of sheep sounds in a dark area. He also added a poignant remark celebrating 10 years of hits, memories, and priceless moments with his audience. The advertising shots of him in a leather jacket have also helped keep the #WDWGFH hashtag constantly trending since the reveal.

This is not the first time KiDi has won an Album of the Year. He had already won that award for his previous project ‘The Golden Boy’ at the Ghana Music Awards and has since gone on to win it twice in a row. But “Where Do We Go From Here” is a different story. It is a landmark of a decade, a period to reflect after ten years of creating one of the most consistent Afrobeats and highlife careers in Ghana.

Some of the individual tracks, including “Special Lovin,” “Lonely” featuring AratheJay, “Crucified” featuring Kwesi Arthur, “IDK” featuring Sarkodie, and “Signature” featuring Lasmid, have already started making their way out, offering listeners a taste of the album’s diversity before the complete project. Plus, there are regional and international elements likely to be unveiled in the coming days that could broaden the scope of the project even further.

KiDi made a name for himself with “Odo” in 2017 and established himself with “Touch It” in 2021, mixing highlife, R&B and dancehall across his career. “Where Do We Go From Here” sounds like the next logical chapter in that continuing saga.
