South African sensation Tyla has released a new high-energy album cut, “RIGHT NOW”, from her sophomore project, A*POP.
This one comes in as another entry on the 14-track album, released July 24 through FAX and Epic Records. Throughout the album cycle, Tyla has been chasing a bolder, more grown-up version of her sound. So “RIGHT NOW” is safely in the greater movement toward confidence and immediacy.
The sound of Tyla – RIGHT NOW is fast, pulsating, geared for action rather than contemplation. No one idea overstays its welcome around here. The arrangement maintains an urgent quality, thus the tune has momentum from the opening seconds.
Tyla’s delivery is also urgent, opting for the immediacy of in-the-moment intensity rather than developing tension slowly.
Lyrically, “RIGHT NOW” feeds onto the idea of needing something immediately, relating the title itself to impatient or urgent overtones. The song is not about doubt. So the energy is trapped within that present tense from beginning to end.
