Well-known, talented Swayvee comes through with a nice new track, “Omalicha,” and yup, it’s just what the title says.
Omalicha basically means “beautiful girls,” and Swayvee doesn’t waste time getting into that theme—straightforward notion, honestly; nothing hidden or stacked beneath it. Sometimes a song just wants to compliment someone, and that’s okay.
Amapiano-leaning beat here, gentler log drum than some of the tougher party cuts out now. The piano melody hovers relatively high in the mix, giving it a softer, almost romantic touch. It’s more a gradual sway than a thing to build a raucous dancefloor around.
Swayvee’s vocals are seamless throughout, nothing forced, nothing over-sung. Sounds relaxed, like he’s actually simply vibing instead of going hard. That kind of easiness genuinely fits a song about liking someone.
There’s not a lot going on in the lyrics; they’re largely praise and admiration all the way through. Repeats the sentiment a couple of different ways without reflection. It’s a basic love yourself as you are track and it totally owns that one 100%.
“Omalicha” isn’t anything revolutionary, but it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes you just need a good accompaniment to a good beat.
