Swayvee gets Scottyolorin and Fergiee to come through on “G-Shock.” This one’s back to flexing hard.
G-Shock as a title just shouts status; that watch brand has been a flex symbol forever. This feels like a purposeful mood swing back to showing off after “Selense”. Three voices this time, so naturally it’s got a stronger intensity too.
Back up to speed, log drum thick again, some harsh synth hits piercing through the mix. Scottyolorin’s touch might be behind that rougher edge. Feels a bit more forceful than Swayvee’s milder cuts. Made for motion, not for contemplation.
Swayvee opens with that same comfortable assurance he’s used before, just more loudly about it this time. Talking status, watches, the normal flex stuff. Nothing subtle, and it’s not attempting to be subtle.
Scottyolorin and Fergiee split the back half, each with his own swagger to counter Swayvee’s intensity. Especially Fergiee’s delivery cuts through the beat and has some teeth to it. Nobody’s being humble here.
“G-Shock” doesn’t score points for depth, but depth wasn’t the assignment here, clearly. It’s a flex album, and it’s loud and clear about it. It does what it says on the tin.
