On “God Design,” Spyro focuses on thankfulness, framing his own path as something more than luck.
Nothing covert about a moniker like that; Spyro’s giving credit to a higher plan for wherever he’s landed. I’m not chasing some showy perspective here either. He’s gotten this far just saying what he thinks.
Afropop warmth with a dash of gospel undertone in the instrumental mixes. Soft keys lead the way as light percussion keeps things rolling. Doesn’t push too much toward either genre entirely. Works in that in-between space nicely, which is good for the topic.
Spyro’s vocals are full of real warmth, not the thanks of a performer but someone truly counting their blessings out loud. It doesn’t oversell the message or try to squeeze a bigger emotional moment than it has to. Consistent. Earnest. Through.
