One of the more quietly powerful gospel moments to emerge from the East African worship space this year is a deeply intimate new worship record from ugandan worship collective Sounds Of The Secret Place called “Ndi Wuwo.”
The title is translated as “I Am Here” in Luganda – a divine presence that pervades every second of the record.
That attitude has been the constant foundation of the ministry of Sounds Of The Secret Place. Their catalogue is about interaction before entertainment, and this record continues that tradition with tremendous conviction.
The arrangement remains sparse and intimate throughout, letting the voices bear the spiritual weight of the declaration without anything competing for attention underneath. That kind of discipline takes a lot of trust in the message, and the collective definitely has it.
