Gifted sensational singer ShaunMusiq links up with Tracy, Thatohatsi and Swayvee for “Iskhali Sam” off the album “Missing Piece”.
This one just brings together a familiar group of collaborators who have definitely developed chemistry over time. Tracy and Thatohatsi have been on a few ShaunMusiq tracks before, so nothing seems rushed or random here. Swayvee belongs. Swayvee enters that same environment.
The beat is a little faster than some of ShaunMusiq’s earlier cuts, falling into that happy mid-tempo range that Amapiano fans appreciate. The smooth keys and steady log drumming give the track some bounce, but keep it cozy.
ShaunMusiq’s production is rich but clean, never allowing any one part to dominate the mix. He allows four voices room to breathe, which isn’t always easy to achieve. It takes a considerable expertise behind the boards to pull that type of layout off.
Tracy and Thatohatsi do what they do best when they sing together and Swayvee adds a new flavor to the mix. No one is trying to dominate the track, everyone is just adding their piece to the broader image. It’s that partnership that gives “Iskhali Sam” its full, layered sound.
Four voices seem somehow like one connected story. That’s why the record works. Nothing feels cobbled together or forced to inflate a credit list. That’s strange, considering how many people worked on one song.
