South African up-and-coming star PLG Chanty teams up with Natiey Lepaka and Chantonic Soul WA’frica for a new Lekompo collaboration, “Ke Boss.”
This one maintains excellent chemistry in the situation. This year Natiey Lepaka made a full repertoire of closely related Lekompo features, and Chantonic Soul WA’frica keeps popping up over the same tracklists with recordings like “Reya Makompong.” PLG Chanty’s own run this year already included “Stofi Stofoza (2.0)” alongside Focalistic, and linking back up with familiar Lekompo names keeps the pace steady. This is hardly ever missing a beat when three performers connect.
Production remains deep and driving, focused around organic instrumentation stacked with thick basslines throughout. That same trademark Lekompo pulse remains, both rapid and grounded. Nothing here muckers up the mix, every piece clicks into the same unyielding groove.
PLG Chanty is the anchor of the track and he asserts his position with tremendous assurance from the first bar. Natiey Lepaka and Chantonic Soul WA’frica trade their individual textures across the record, each bringing their own intensity without crowding the space. The collaboration is merited, not assembled, by their combined run.
