Outside, Eddie name-drops the good life on “Casamigos,” an Afro-fusion track which trades the anguish of “No Love” for something looser and more lighthearted.
Makes sense, actually. The man had sat with his feelings for a full song, and needed to reset. “Casamigos” is a nod to the tequila brand and everything it represents: excellent company, wonderful beverages, no worry.
The production adds an Afrobeats vibe to richer, more layered instrumentation. This allows the record to go beyond a simple street-pop bounce. It’s a richer sound than on “Feel D Mood,” proof that Outsyd Eddie’s continually adding new hues to his palette.
His flow here is still silky and unbothered. The sort of vocal tone that fits a song made for good times and not deep conversation. Nothing forced, nothing over-explained.
The lyrics are playful, creating a party atmosphere, but they’re not trying to make a broader statement. Sometimes a song just wants you to have a good time, and “Casamigos” is all about that.
