Nigerian homegrown artist Oladips has added “Keep Showing Up” to his 2026 output, further building on a repertoire characterized by Yoruba rap, personal narrative and observations taken from everyday life.
Oladips has never been afraid to air real-life concerns in his music, but this release is best consumed on its own terms and not reduced to a motivational song on the strength of its title. His distinctive Yoruba-led speech still forms part of the identity he has created over the years.
Following a stretch of activity with new content following projects such as Lazarus (The Apparition), the rapper drops the track. His repertoire has recently consisted of a series of one-offs and meatier efforts.
That constancy is important for an artist whose career has gone thru numerous phases, from his early Edge Records phase to working independently and reconstructing his catalog on his own terms. Every new release just keeps the story going without having to come up with a broader story around it.
