Liberian rapper and singer-songwriter MC CARO hooks up with Sierra Leonean rapper and singer BakiTenno on “Cooking,” bringing together two West African performers whose recent work has raised their profiles in Liberia and Sierra Leone separately.
MC CARO comes into the collaboration with an established reputation in Liberia’s Hipco and Trapco sectors, while BakiTenno represents a fresh generation of Sierra Leonean talent. He is riding on a wave of popularity at the moment and has won the Best New Act award at the 2025 Sierra Leone Music Awards.
The collaboration comes after a period of regional engagement for both musicians. BakiTenno has also expanded his reach outside of Sierra Leone in 2025 while MC CARO has continued releasing music and growing her Helebor Entertainment brand.
Their recent movements already share a relationship, as both musicians appeared at The Gambia’s EHYOR Festival in 2025. Their partnership is consequently based on a connection that is more than just sharing credits on a song.
