31 million Spotify plays. #1 on the Beatport Afro House chart. #1 in Turkey, Central America, and The Dominican Republic. Those numbers are well earned, as Jamaican (Bam Bam) by HUGEL and SOLTO (FR) is one of the biggest dance records of 2026.
French producers HUGEL and SOLTO have reworked Sister Nancy’s 1982 Jamaican dancehall song “Bam Bam” for the current dancefloor. The record was released on November 7, 2025 via MoBlack Records and Make the Girls Dance Records and was included on HUGEL’s album “Twenty One” on June 26, 2026. But by then it had already spread like wildfire through South America, Europe, and beyond.
It is 2 minutes and 36 seconds and wastes no time. The drums. Fast, hard. Then crisp claps. And then the bassline kicks in and doesn’t let go. The original vocal melody is right there on top, readily recognizable to anyone with any knowledge of reggae history. But additionally, the Afro House production frame underneath makes the whole thing feel contemporary rather than nostalgic.
The Extended Mix is five minutes for DJs. And remixes just keep coming out because nobody wants to stop playing it. Also, its Shazam data shows listeners discovering it most around the 35-second mark, indicating the hook attracts people fast.
