The South African Amapiano act HBK Live Act joined forces with Nicco NK and Way Kay for a slick new tune named “Seku Late”.
There is some real history to this threesome. Way Kay and Nicco NK made their debut together with the release of “Kwa Gae” on HBK Live Act in 2024, and all three collaborated on “Tjwala Bam Bafethu” with DJ Promatic SA. So “Seku Late” is not a comfortable pairing–it’s three musicians who know each other’s styles well enough to move together on the record without friction.
The title alone sets the mood before the first beat hits. “Seku Late” (which means “it’s already late”) brings with it that recognizable late-night Amapiano vibe. Nites that began early and lasted past any respectable hour. HBK Live Act captures that atmosphere with addictive rhythm and songs made for that particular moment, with Nicco NK and Way Kay adding the vocal smoothness that has become a characteristic of their collaborative chemistry.
HBK Live Act has remained quietly consistent throughout 2025 and into 2026 building up over 179,000 monthly Spotify listeners while releasing records such as “Body Jwala” and “Sghubu sa Strata” with Way Kay. But “Seku Late” sounds like one of the more easy and confident recordings in that run, like an artist who is quite comfortable with his sound and is no longer chasing it.
