Fat Papi & prodshushy have dropped “FREAKED OUT” on June 5 on broke label. It was produced by Owen Omen and penned by Baban Hussain and McGregor.

Not many artists in the underground hip-hop scene build records this efficiently. “FREAKED OUT” runs just over two minutes and wastes no time. Fat Papi’s delivery is loose and confident throughout, and prodshushy’s production adds a textural depth that solo efforts can lack at times.

The official music video, directed by The Glovebox and shot by Xav Compton, is already getting slowed and reverb edits on YouTube days after release. Also, the Spotify listing is part of a release package with three tracks, so this is a release that came out of a focused creative session as opposed to a random single drop.

“FREAKED OUT” commences with a recurring love motif, before plunging into something more raw and energetic beneath. But that juxtaposition is what makes the record memorable on first listen, rather than merely familiar.

If this is your first time hearing Fat Papi and prodshushy on this tune, you should dig more into the broke label roster.
