South African producer ESK Musiq returns with a new solo cut titled “Brazil Boots.” The record adds to a discography that’s made ESK Musiq one of the best-known names in the current generation of South African electronic music.
His music is a blend of Amapiano rhythms and house-leaning production. The Combo has seen records like “STOP n GO” and “MBIIZE” rack up huge streaming figures. So “Brazil Boots” has that signature all over. The track is propelled by the danceable percussion and rich electronic textures of ESK Musiq.
The rhythm is locked in from start to end, giving the album that hypnotic, floor-ready pull his library is known for. The whole setup doesn’t feel rushed, and the rhythm has a chance to breathe. “Brazil Boots,” without a featured vocalist, nonetheless has enough movement and character to stand alone.
