Nigerian great recording singer and composer EmmaOMG has released a new song named “Mo Gbekele Didara Re” starring The OhEmGee Choir.

The number matters because of what it indicates about the format. EmmaOMG does not go for studio polish with The OhEmGee Choir. But it is these live sessions, recorded in front of a real congregation, that have been the main engine of the platform. This is the same arrangement that created “Jesu Oba Alade” and “O Ti Mu Wa Ye,” Yoruba worship songs that spread through TikTok gospel accounts almost completely by word of mouth.

The title approximately translates as “gather in His goodness”, a term made for call and response, not passive listening. The song’s heft comes from layered voices, rather than instrumentation, employing the same method that made “Mo Ti F’aye Mi Ru’bo” feel less like a song and more like a recorded altar summons, with the choir carrying so much of the arrangement.

What distinguishes EmmaOMG’s oeuvre from studio-polished modern gospel is the room noise you can hear below all of it — the crowd breathing between lines, the choir catching each other’s cues live. “Mo Gbekele Didara Re” keeps that same unedited texture.
