IVY CASANOVA & OLDMANMIKE TEAM UP WITH SOUTH AFRICAN PRODUCERS ELVIRGO & QUEENTHEE VOCALIST ON NEW AMAPIANO SINGLE “NGIYAKHALA”
The four acts combined have a familiar creative history. Elvirgo and OldManMike had worked together several times in the “Tsonga King” project, and both “ISTHEMBISO” and “INTO STEP” displayed the product of that chemistry. So the concept of reuniting OldManMike with Ivy Casanova for a QueenThee Vocalist collab is not reinventing the wheel but using already-established relationships.
QueenThee Vocalist delivers her unique soulful warmth that has earned her one of the most consistent vocal contributors throughout Amapiano and Afro-soul in South Africa. Her past work with DJ Skizoh BW, TallexQ, and Nvcely Sings demonstrated an artist who knows how to adapt to varied creative situations without losing her originality. So “Ngiyakhala” earns her contribution, not borrows it.
Another vocal layer, provided by Ivy Casanova, provides the record textural richness. The blend of four different creative voices on one record could easily become crowded – but Elvirgo’s producing instinct keeps the arrangement tight enough for each performance to land effectively.
“Ngiyakhala” means “I am crying” in Zulu – so the emotional weight behind the album is genuine. The combination of soulful vocals and warm Amapiano production offers that concept the perfect aural frame without weighing the record down.
Listen to “Ngiyakhala” and let us know if this 4-way collab is Elvirgo’s best 2026 production – drop your verdict below!
