Pretoria-born R&B powerhouse Elaine reunites with Major League DJz for “One More Dance” with famed producers Atmos Blaq and Mpho.wav.
It’s a reunion rich with real history. Their 2023 collaboration with Yumbs, “All Nite Long,” topped the South African national radio airplay list. It was never going to be a casual decision to go back into that creative realm. Both sides came back with something to prove – and “One More Dance” delivers on all the history promised.
Atmos Blaq and Mpho.wav produce shimmering synths on top of hypnotic rhythms and Afro-electronic textures, which give the song its immersive feel. But it’s all in Elaine’s voice. Her heartfelt R&B register flows across the sound without fighting it – present enough to anchor the emotion, restrained enough to allow the arrangement to breathe around her. That balance is the difference between a superb vocal performance and a strong one.
