Tanzanian rapper Dicazzi has linked up with Country Wizzy on “Pande Mbili” and this collaboration is already a big one.
Before this they had worked together on the huge “Money Talks” cypher with Msamiati, Moni Centrozone and a few others. “Pande Mbili” feels like a natural progression from that shared space into something more concentrated between just the two of them so.
“Pande Mbili” means “Two Sides” and the song discusses street life, real vs phony relationships and the two sides of success in the music industry. That idea works for both artists. Dicazzi’s raw storytelling and Country Wizzy’s smoother rap style really balance each other out throughout the record rather than pulling in separate directions.
The two rappers are also back together after their “Money Talks” appearance and the song comes after the successful release of Dicazzi’s “Tafsiri” and Country Wizzy’s “Mademu.” Both are in good form at the minute. So that timing makes a lot of sense.”
Tanzania’s hip-hop scene doesn’t get enough credit for the quality it continues to produce. That’s another remembrance of “Pande Mbili”.
