July 17, 2026. Haba 009 is out with a new five-voice Bongo Flava collaboration titled “Mchapakazi” featuring Mapanch BmB, Panthera, K Doo and FeDOo.
Chaba 009 and Mapanch BmB had met earlier on “Party” and “Unaifilii” in 2024. K Doo has also featured in the “The Baba Mkubwa Show” series with Chaba 009. So it’s not just a random bunch of names. Some of these artists already know how to live together without treading on each other.
“Mchapakazi” is the Swahili word for “a hardworking person”, and that energy naturally flows through the record. The song needs genuine structure or it will feel chaotic with five different voices contributing. But the group balances it really well, each performer coming in and out without interrupting the general rhythm.
Tanzania’s hip-hop and Bongo Flava scenes continue to churn out collaborative tracks that feel more like collective efforts than just packed feature lists. “Mchapakazi” is definitely in that category.
