Ghanaian rapper Kofi Mole teams up with singer and songwriter Sefa for a new smooth duet titled “Asew” from his “4 Da Poppin” EP.
The partnership works because both artists have complementing strengths rather than overlapping ones. Kofi Mole handles his lines with the usual lighthearted but thoughtful rap style that made “Mensah” a breakthrough single. And then Sefa lifts the chorus with strong, passionate vocals that provide “Asew” its melodic anchor. So the record doesn’t feel like an awkward rapper and a featured singer sharing the same space. Both musicians provide the song’s identity from their lane throughout.
The production blends contemporary Ghanaian hip-hop with Afrobeat elements—sharp percussion, silky synths and a catchy bassline that keeps the rhythm going without overcomplicating the arrangement. So, “Asew” is just as comfortable on the dancefloor as it is through headphones. It is this duality of function that makes a record play again and again, in different circumstances.
The “4 Da Poppin” EP also displays a Kofi Mole who is meticulous in his collaborations. Across 4 tracks, Sefa, Quamina MP, and Kuami Eugene touch on significantly different sound aspects without the project appearing dispersed. “Asew” therefore helps to form a unified EP body, rather than being a familiar named song that stands on its own.
