Kweku Smoke carries the same weight as “Life Of A Hustler,” simply targeted inward this time on Through The Pain.
Bassline drags a little slower here, with hi hats less frenetic and more room between each stroke. Where the prior one moved rapidly through hustling, this one sits longer in whatever hurts under it.
His delivery softens a little too, less clipped, in spots closer to true singing. There’s a pause, an extra beat, that seems to be meant to be there.
In the end nothing was solved. Just pain, truthfully named. No record of trying to cure it, or wrap it up neatly.
