“Set It Straight,” finds weku Smoke climbing back up again, lifting itself out of the anguish “Through The Pain” sat in.
Hi Hats, get faster, bassline punchier, and closer to the excitement of “Life Of A Hustler” than the previous slower tune. Nothing here stays; it all travels with purpose.
His bars are more direct too, with less thought and more correction. Someone is telling someone else straight; there is no chance of misunderstanding.
Now it’s the third track, and the pattern’s obvious; he moves from bustle and anguish and then right back to clarity. This one’s a hard landing, no give at all.
When you need something to be expressed in simple, with no cushioning, play “Set It Straight.”
