Well known talented Obedo PF, the super talented Nigerian slows things down on a raw new album named “Victim”.
Three songs into this run and suddenly he drops the guard. Where “Wayo” hides behind street smarts, “Victim” peels that layer back entirely. It’s the most personal cut of the lot so far, and that shows early.
The production fits the tone, with a moody piano loop and a heartbeat-style kick pattern below. The tempo is a bit slower than “Wayo,” allowing more room for each line to sit. No loud percussion battling for space here, just calm weight bearing it all.
Obedo PF’s voice cracks slightly in the first stanza, and you can tell he’s doing it on purpose. He’s not doing suffering. He’s naming pain, and that rawness in his tone sells that. The bars in between feel like part of the drama, too.
Lyrically, he’s talking about betrayal, being used, and carrying weight no one sees. No football confidence, no street swagger, just a guy saying he got duped. The honesty of that is what separates it from anything else in the series.
Four recordings in and Obedo PF has now rapped about swagger, anger, hustle and hurt. “Victim” concludes this run with his most potent statement to date, and it succeeds because he’s earned that vulnerability. It adds to the story rather than duplicating it.
