Well-known, talented Woza Bakzin and GoldMax team up with Still That Combo on “Sofel’empini,” and this one’s got a stronger edge.
Sofel’empini simply means to fall or to stand in battle- war imagery. Still, The Combo makes sense here; they’re known for that grittier sound. Different energy from the party-first music this duo’s been putting out lately.
GoldMax darkens the color a bit, log beat still there, but the song below turns moodier. Much darker piano, more low, melancholy synth work. Percussion hits harder too, almost forceful compared to something like “Ispikili.
Woza Bakzin’s delivery follows that transition, and it’s more aggressive than his laid-back pocket riding. His voice has a sharpness here that wasn’t really there on the lighter tracks. That’s the kind of energy that battle talk needs, and he gives it.
Still That Combo bring their own weight to the track, verses hitting with real conviction. They don’t soften anything for the purpose of mixing. If anything they take the tension up another notch from where Woza Bakzin left it.
This is undoubtedly one of the heaviest cuts in the whole Woza Bakzin and GoldMax run thus far. Harder production. War imagery. No letting up anywhere. “Sofel’empini” lives up to its title.
