Enugu-based rapper and songwriter Tuff King dishes out another single from his “Black Sheepizen” EP named “45 Street Girl”.
It’s a pretty quiet one in his career compared to some of his bigger songs like “Waka Waka” and “Nkemakonam,” but it doesn’t make it any less worthy of attention. In fact, deep cuts like this frequently tell you more about what an artist is *really* capable of than the songs everyone already knows.
Tuff King writes and executive produces much of his own stuff, so all his records have that same raw honesty. This tune keeps that thread unbroken.
The title alone implies a story to be told, not some typical street bravado. Tuff King has always been more about bold, character-driven narratives than vague flexing, and it usually gives his less well-known tracks a different kind of staying power than his radio hits.
For those fans who have already worn out “Waka Waka,” “45 Street Girl” is another side of the same Black Sheep enthusiasm.
