The hustle-inspired “FARMING” from Stray Kids’ new mini album “THIS & THAT” gets a little grittier.
This one is a real hustle cultural criticism on gamer terminology. Written by Changbin, Hyunjin, Bang Chan, Han, Restart and Chae Kang Hae, the word itself, farming, is taken straight from gaming’s grind-for-XP parlance. Here, Stray Kids ditch the album’s softer moments for something tougher, joining “I Do” as one of the project’s harder-edged tunes. Part of that is anchored by Felix’s deep baritone, lending weight to the bustling motif.
The production is clear and punchy, with a powerful beat reflecting the constant grind energy. There is no pause here. That restless, always-more mentality cuts thru each verse, no time for ballin’, only relentless rolling toward the next goal.
FARMING succeeds because it translates modern hustle mentality into a reality you can feel in the beat.
