Sensational Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Mchina Mweusi has dropped a brand new single track dubbed “Uchoki”.
He’s already built a proper library this year, with songs like “Mirathi” and “Wapambanaji” demonstrating the same street-rooted narrative instinct. Uchoki, signifying exhaustion/ tiredness in Swahili, leaves him in that same emotionally straight lane. Mchina Mweusi’s discography makes heavy use of language of everyday hardship, and this title is precisely in line with that pattern.
Production remains locked in that familiar Bongo Flava base, built on warm melodic rhythm with space for the storytelling to drive. Nothing here passes a moment. That familiar gravity is exactly why his repertoire continues to connect with East African fans.
Uchoki works because it names something genuine- fatigue- and doesn’t pretend that the grind ever lets up.
