The Tanzanian church choir AIC Tabora Choir enter the worship area with a sincere new gospel album, titled “Alimaliza Yote,” produced by Quillian Kilago.
The title means “He Finished It All” in Swahili—a proclamation of total divine provision at the heart of East African Christian worship culture. But AIC Tabora Choir does not see it as a casual praise record. The song has the weight of a congregation that has been through something and still stands on the other side.
Producer Quillian Kilago stays true to the classic sound of the choir. So, there are no needless modern frills to compete for attention. Vocals lead everything, with layered harmonies growing up as the song develops. AIC Tabora Choir knows it better than most, because choir music lives and dies by its vocal construction.
The choir has already garnered a tiny but dedicated fanbase on Audiomack with past recordings like “Hatumo,” “Neema Imenitosha,” and “Umeniheshimisha” with Jackline Mwarabu. Yet, “Alimaliza Yote” seems to be their most full release to yet. The assurance of the delivery reveals a group that has matured in both cohesiveness and conviction since those early recordings.
It’s a timely recording for Tanzanian gospel fans who prefer choir-led worship over praise music sung by soloists. The production is intentionally minimal, yet the vocal performance is deep enough that “Alimaliza Yote” becomes truly touching listening.
