Sensational Nigerian,n singer Danya Devs hooks up with Mzukulu on his new single “Selfish” produced by Kinglee Beats.

Since leaving Blaq Diamond to go solo, Danya has carved himself his own niche with his soulful Afro-pop sound. This lands as a lead single off his upcoming “Bayede Deluxe” release, retaining the same themes of love and ethnic pride that informed the original album. Mzukulu also comes in with his own rep from the Afro-soul and Amapiano space.

The production merges contemporary Afropop with a heavy Maskandi influence, creating a warm and authentically South African feel. There’s no haste to the arrangement and the tunes are given significant emotional weight throughout. That warmth ties into the larger ideas of the deluxe project.

Danya opens with his signature slick, soulful act that has built him a devoted fanbase since going solo. The song lyrically describes a story of deep love where a spouse is humorously termed selfish for keeping all the beauty in the world. This lighthearted framing takes the edge off the passion, yet doesn’t lose sincerity. Together both voices form a common narrative of love and selfishness.

“Selfish” succeeds because it boils down a complicated feeling into something warm instead than bitter. And despite the emotional subject of the record, nothing feels over the top. That balance is precisely why it’s a good teaser for “Bayede Deluxe.”
