SA Amapiano ensemble ATK MusiQ go deep on comeback album, “The Return,” with “Uzozisola” featuring Tee Tee SA, Snyper Reloaded and VocalKat.
It’s one of the longest cuts in the project, clocking in at seven minutes and fourteen seconds. But it justifies the runtime. ATK MusiQ doesn’t rush to a peak; rather, the record takes its time to construct the arrangement. By the time the groove is completely open, you are already inside it.
VocalKat is the emotional lynchpin. Tee Tee SA and Snyper Reloaded offer their trademark street intensity; VocalKat takes the record in a gentler, more contemplative direction. That contrast makes “Uzozisola” intriguing all the way through. Without the vocal balance, a seven-minute Amapiano cut can easily lose its grip mid-way through.
The track also made the rounds of the tracks that were generating early online buzz before “The Return” officially dropped – samples circulated and built real anticipation. So it came to an audience that was ready for it. Typically, that pre-release hype is reserved for the songs that bear the emotional weight of the album, and “Uzozisola” fits that mold wonderfully.
This tune offers a payoff for those who listen to “The Return” as it plays out track by track. It is not meant for a quick play; it is meant for a long session.
