Well-known, talented Cape Town rap duo K.Keed and Orish keep Umgaranto II moving with another solid collaboration in “Qotho”.
“Qotho” is a word of considerable significance in the Southern African languages. It means honesty or sincerity, and it fits well with the wider Umgaranto II story. This whole project was developed by K.Keed and Orish from real-life experience and real friendships, real stories, taken straight out of Gugulethu, not made for an audience. And a tune titled “Qotho” is completely in line with it.
Orish structures the production with the filmic restraint that has defined his work throughout the record. It’s that same feeling of discipline that also makes Umgaranto II feel a lot more like a body of work than a collection of disjointed singles.
K.Keed’s “Qotho” has the emotional candor the title demands. She’s never been an artist who fakes vulnerability – she just raps about what’s actually going on with her. That candor is what keeps her catalog from seeming manufactured, from seeming like it was designed in a lab.
K.Keed and Orish continue to prove that Umgaranto II is one of the most complete hip-hop projects of 2026 from Cape Town.
