Welll known talented Angolan artist Zé Ngola returns with a new single, “Ta me quer Voltar,” full of heart.
This one is off his EP “Meus Sentimentos,” published in April and fits right in with his collection of romantic songs. From “Agora queres Voltar” to “Amor de homem Angolano”, Zé Ngola built a whole body of work on love, longing and second chances. So an emotional title that translates as “you want to come back to me” is right in that emotional realm.
The production is warm and melodious, with no club-ready sound, but delicate and acoustic-leaning textures. It doesn’t rush anything, and that patience lets the space of the vocals carry the emotional weight. The instrumentation is soft, the tale told is the focus.
Even if the lyrics are about someone who wants to come back after leaving, the drama is not overplayed. That discipline makes the record sound personal not dramatic.
There’s a hesitancy going through it, there’s a fragility because wanting someone back doesn’t erase what came before. Consequently, the song is more like a diary entry than a simple love song.
