South African sensation Tyla collaborates with Liquideep for a fresh new album cut, “FAIRYTALE,” taken from her latest effort, A*POP.

This one comes early on the 14-track album, due out July 24 on FAX/Epic Records. The partnership is a direct tap into Tyla’s native scene, while Liquideep brings strong South African house heritage to the collaboration. That connection is a perfect fit in an album that focuses on personal growth and reconnecting with her roots.

The production is filled with pop-flavored uptempo instrumentation, with warmth flowing through every layer. Nothing here is overdone or heavy. The arrangement maintains light so that both voices can exchange energy without getting in the way of each other.

Here Tyla takes the lead, and instead of waiting to be pursued, she makes the first love move herself. She remains playful and optimistic leaving the door open for the song’s invitation. There’s enough of that confidence throughout A*POP, but here it feels more heartfelt.
