Tanzanian Singeli and Baibuda artist Munta Dee collaborates with Chamossy Brand on the new single “Nimekumiss,”. A record that veers away from his normal high-energy Singeli pace toward something more sluggish and emotional. The title mixes Swahili and English, translating to just “I’ve Missed You,” and the song thoroughly embraces that sensation.

He has also been around the Chamossy Brand world, directing his 2025 single “Blessed” and appearing on earlier posse cuts such as “Kibango.” Their relationship here is effortless and familiar, like a record of longing and friendship.

The production changes gears from what Munta Dee’s core audience would expect. Instead of the fast, throbbing BPM that distinguishes Singeli, the beat here remains warm and mid-tempo, structured around melodic instrumentation that gives the record a romantic, late-night air. That restraint works to the song’s advantage.

Munta Dee’s delivery is a much softer than his street Singeli production. He allows the Swahili-English combo to speak for the feeling.

Chamossy Brand steps in and echoes that softer energy, adding vocal texture that deepens the record’s longing at its centre. The two voices go together, not against each other.

“Nimekumiss” succeeds because it’s not trying to be a Singeli album at a lower tempo. Chamossy Brand and Munta Dee are all in with the vibe and let it take over.
