Nigerian Igbo gospel preacher, Sis. Juliana Okah comes out with “Songs of Freedom (Non-Stop) Pt. 1”, a 22-minute long continuous worship medley. The project is released by Oceanic Video Link Ltd. This isn’t a radio cut, it’s an entire ministry session compressed into one long record for those who want worship music that doesn’t cut out halfway through.
Sis. Juliana Okah is part of the Okah gospel family, a ministry orbit that includes Evang. John Okah and Sis. Ify Okah, all of whom have developed devoted followings among Igbo Christian communities in Nigeria and beyond. Her library includes several non-stop medley releases such “Hours of Favour” and “Songs of Forgiveness,” and “Songs of Freedom Pt. 1” slides right into that collection.
The production draws on live instrumentation steeped in the Nigerian gospel culture. Drums, keyboard and choir arrangements lead the medley from one song to the next without jarring transitions. Because the whole piece runs as one continuous track, the arrangement needs to breathe consistently throughout the full runtime, and it does.
