The wait is now over after years of fans yearning for a collaboration. Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian Afropop star, has finally worked with his former label boss and mentor in the music business, Olamide, on their first-ever track together, “Formation.”
“Formation,” which came out on April 9, 2026, isn’t simply another club hit; it’s a symbolic reunion that goes back more than ten years of shared history and respect.
Adekunle Gold was a graphic designer in 2014. He made the famous YBNL Nation logo for Olamide. Olamide saw his musical talent and signed him to the company in 2015. His career took off with singles like “Sade” and his first album, Gold.
Even though they were really close, they never made a song together when Adekunle was at YBNL. They’ve finally found the right time to go into the studio together now that Adekunle Gold is a global Afrobeats star.
